1. The axial connection between the motor output shaft and the driven shaft is not concentric, causing the motor to bear excessive radial impact, eventually causing metal fatigue and deformation, causing the motor shaft to break. The fracture location is usually close to the bearing.

 

2. For motors driven by passive pulleys. When some customers equip the motor output shaft with a pulley, because the pulley is too heavy or the belt is installed too tightly, the motor output shaft will continue to be subject to varying lateral stress during the operation of the motor. Repeated impacts will cause fatigue, causing the shaft to gradually develop. Cracks and eventually complete breakage.

 

3. The equipment and motor vibrate excessively during operation.

If the motor is not firmly fixed, the entire foundation will be unstable during operation and the vibration amplitude will be large. As a result, the lateral pulling force of the motor belt is unstable, sometimes increasing and decreasing, causing damage to the shaft.

 

4. The stress groove processed on the shaft does not meet the requirements.

This problem mostly occurs at the transition point between shaft diameters at the root of the shaft extension. A large number of case analyses can be found that the processing of the R angle at the root of the shaft extension is not standardized, resulting in relatively concentrated stress at this location. The motor is subject to alternating shaft diameter and radial stress during operation.
